A heartwarming journey of Nimki from a carefree girl to the champion of rights of her village folks
Nimki is a fun, carefree village girl whose life revolves around her daydreams of getting married. She is a poor father’s pampered princess and extremely inspired by Bollywood. Her village jhad always been run by headmen from higher castes and there are a lot of political fights that happen between the two rival political parties of the village. However, Nimki is far removed from this political world and neither does she have any great ambitions in life. Before the village elections, the state government declares that the headman’s seat in Nimki’s village will be reserved for a woman candidate from the lower castes. By chance of fate, Nimki gets elected as the first-ever female headwoman of her village. In an attempt to take advantage of her power, the ruling upper caste political family’s son proposes marriage to her. While, in the beginning, Nimki is content being a puppet Headwoman, she soon realizes the importance of her responsibility. And, from there on, starts Nimki’s fight to bring about social equality in her village.
